So, most think that this is where you spend your money – I’d disagree. If you have a decent serum and eye cream for the important bits, you can get away with a cheaper moisturiser – as long as it has no nasties in. They should not contain mineral oil/petroleum/petrochemicals at all!! You should be using about a penny sized amount for your face and another penny for neck/decolletage area. Spend a decent amount of time massaging it in – not too hard, just gently.
Here are mine…
(Excuse the cat hairs on the bed!)
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Face base – £38.50. I use this more of a primer after a moisturiser if I want/need more hydration. Shea butter can be problematic for really oily skin so I’d avoid if that is you … Fab for dryer skins. http://www.bobbibrown.co.uk/product/2573/7485/Skincare/Moisturisers/Face/Vitamin-Enriched-Face-Base/Top-Rated/index.tmpl
Origins A Perfect world – £36. This is gorgeous – light, lovely. Anti ageing. http://www.origins.co.uk/product/3858/10345/Skincare/Category/Moisturisers/A-Perfect-World/Antioxidant-moisturizer-with-White-Tea/index.tmpl
Clarins Early Wrinkle Cream – can’t go wrong with Clarins creams. Meant for 25-30yr olds … oops time to move an age bracket! ****AMAZING PRICE on allbeauty! http://www.allbeauty.com/productPaging.php?productId=124733&ref=%7Badtype%7D&utm_source=%7Badtype%7D&utm_medium=FREE&cm_mmc=%7Badtype%7D-_-Free-_-Listing-_-124733¤cy=GBP&country=48&&gclid=CPWJvYyr4MQCFW-WtAod40AADg
Elemis Pro Collagen Marine cream – V v pricey. This is nice and light and apparently the best selling facial moisturiser ever. I’m not sure…. I think my other ones are better and cheaper.
REN Clearcalm – from M&S on offer at the mo. Reasonable price 23 pounds. Use this when I’m spotty. Really nice. http://www.renskincare.com/p/3327/ClearCalm+3+Replenishing+Gel+Cream
MV Organics Rose Moisturiser – vvv pricey but lovely. Goes well with the spray toner from yesterday. Just smooths everything.
Malin+Goetz Vitamin E – 37 pounds. Spacenk – a more expensive version of The Body shop Vit E. Nice all rounder but I’d buy TBS one to be honest! Save a fortune!
Tropic Skin revive – really nice in winter as it is quite rich. Smells lush.
Mario Badescu Aloe – 20 pounds http://www.beautybay.com/skincare/mariobadescu/aloemoisturizerspf15/ – I use this when I’ve been really spotty and have used intensive spot treatments and my skin has dried out. It gets a bit of moisture back.
Clarins Hydra Matte – 20 pounds . I don’t normally like matte creams but if you’re oily this is lovely. Sample size but I might repurchase full size for the summer. http://www.allbeauty.com/productPaging.php?productId=8492&ref=%7Badtype%7D&utm_source=%7Badtype%7D&utm_medium=FREE&cm_mmc=%7Badtype%7D-_-Free-_-Listing-_-8492¤cy=GBP&country=48&&gclid=CNfO2Iqs4MQCFWPnwgodkZ0A5w
Origins Make a Difference Plus – 34.50 This is for dehydrated /dry skins. Smells gorgeous and just makes everything nice as smooth and supple. http://www.origins.co.uk/product/3858/23831/Skincare/Category/Moisturisers/Make-A-Difference-Plus/Rejuvenating-Moisturizer/index.tmpl

NB: Don’t bother buying a moisturiser with specific SPF in it: you’ll be paying for the SPF (which is more expensive than the moisturiser ingredients). Buy a separate SPF. If your moisutriser does have SPF in it and you like it – fine. But I personally wouldn’t rely on the SPF in day creams.
